one human's attempts to coax some chaos out of all this order

poem from 10/6/22

make a wish on a shooting star
did you wish to know who you are,
beneath this disguise?
…look into my eyes

we are the same,
and not just you and me
the more we see the less we think
about this strange reality

spinning round, coming down,
is it a spiral of light?
maybe a spiral of night?
I’m in a spiral tonight

but it’s alright I tell myself
and see the dust upon my shelf
reminding me who I might be
if I could truly be me

but not tonight, no not tonight
in new light I’ll do it right
I’ll be a candle in the night

I’ll be the me that I could see
upon that mountain like a dream
so many things I could see,
so I guess I’ll be me

A Love Letter to Dear Earth

The stars above keep shining down
Might lose my mind but I’ll lose my frown
If you listen close you can hear the sound
Of their heart beat through us all

The rocks and trees and birds all sing
Giving thanks for everything
Pick up the phone when you hear the ring
You’ve been waiting for the call, start listening

It’s time to write love letters to the earth

Head in the grass I’m looking at the sky
This mountain air gets me so high
The golden sun shines on my face
Wraps me in a warm embrace

Love and light it fills the air
A gentle breeze blows through my hair
Wherever they are you’ll find me there
Wherever I go they’re always there, they care

It’s time to write love letters to the earth

A Poem That Started My Ecopsychology Journey

folds of green upon a folded earth
falling leaves display their worth

morning dew on blades of grass
like all things,
this too shall pass

a gust of wind,
the world now whole
a gentle breeze
blows through your soul

soft blue skies
the world’s own mirror
could there be
a vision clearer?

all is well
as all is one
take thy first step
your journey has begun
